POSTED ON WNEM NEWS INTERACTIVE 2/5/13 OFFICER SCOTT BICKEL AND JIMMY GREEN

  • I'd like to offer a bit of good news. Even though the news is grim at City Hall, the City's Neighborhood Watch groups refuse to lay down and wish to keep pushing potential solutions. Cathy Wagner of the Southwest Neighborhood Association has invited all the Associations, any concerned citizen, police officers and firefighters along with the City Council and the Mayor to attend their Feb. 19th meeting 6:30pm at the Beacon of Hope church located at 2109 W Michigan. I encourage people to attend and be part of the solution not the problem. People who want to just bash our City or it's people need not attend. Bring your ideas and offer them, even the smallest idea may be pivotal in bringing about the proposal that changes the tide for the current thought process. Don't give up Saginaw, no offense to the Sheriff, we should be responsible for our own issues. Our debts are ours. We need to be more collaborative in our efforts to continue being successful as a Municipality. Don't lay down and allow the history of Saginaw to mean nothing and the current City to go into the pages of history in such a negative and embarrassing state, WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS !
